That was more entertaining than expected. It's nice to see a horror movie, that tries to scare its audience, but isn't all dark and depressing and actually stops for some fun moments, like a NKOTB joke.
However, I had trouble with the "getting scared" part. While jumpscares are fun, they don't really last long on me. (The most successful was the woman from the painting.) And this Pennywise felt more like a Tim Burton character to me. Kinda scary, a bit disturbing, but mostly weird fun.
I liked it and I can't wait for part 2, but it wasn't a full homerun. It definitely beats the shit out of STRANGERS THINGS, but that's not hard.
