Too bad that they put a bit more emphasis on a story again. It's not that it's a deep story, but the series works best, when they just try to top each previous slapstick moment with even more silliness and go full cartoony.
There is still a lot to like. Not all gags work, but the ones that do, are brillant as always. Burt Kwouk has thankfully a lot more to do this time around and they brought back Herbert Lom, without ever explaining why Dreyfuss is still alive or allowed to be on the police force. Unfortunately he is a bit underused this time, but every scene with him still provides some of the biggest laughs in the movie.
