Sam Retta’s review published on Letterboxd:
Riz Ahmed is spectacular in this! Those moments of chaotic noise juxtaposed with those moments of stillness… wow! I guess that’s the common progression we have to take when faced with the daunting task of accepting our own imperfections.
The film hammers home the sentiment that the flaws which we see in ourselves are not necessarily flaws to the rest of the world. The moment we learn to embrace our deficiencies and love ourselves is the moment the world will learn to love us too, no matter what presumed disabilities we may embody.
The pursuit of self-acceptance can only be achieved through the pursuit of those still moments as well. When we learn to turn that raging storm inside of us into a motionless pond and just be ok with it.
