Some good stuff in what is an uneven movie. Christian Bale and Amy Adams are great in their parts and the film bolsters good acting over all, but the film falls flat when it comes to pacing and editing.
I can appreciate some of the direction and some of it works very well as McKay tries to replicate the formula he used for The Big Short. Nonetheless some of the movie drags and just doesn’t reach the dramatic tension this material carries.
