Coen brothers’ sense of humour has me orbiting.

Lots of people define movies “disturbing” thinking it’s a bad thing.

My Own Private Idaho 1991
Honestly I missed several dialogues because of the close-ups on Keanu Reeves’ face.

The Piano Teacher 2001
I read the book from which this film is based (The Piano Teacher, 1983 - Elfriede Jelinek) and Haneke could not have been inspired by it in a better way. Really one of the smartest and most charismatic directors.

Mala Noche 1986
I found the accusations of racism to this movie unfounded. The character of the american Walt is not in a position of power, he is perhaps more exasperated than the young Mexicans, whose emotional coldness and verbal brutality are justified by the poverty and marginalization to which they are condemned. Walt is obsessed and the servant of his own impulses, Johnny is ruthless and insolent. I would avoid making it a question of "race", but rather of different cultural contexts.

Oxygen 2021
The biggest problem with this umpteenth movie about a person locked in a hole who can't breathe (*big yawn*) is that for its entire duration I’ve never been interested in the fate of the protagonist, I’ve never hoped that she save herself or that she find out why she was there. So, if the main purpose of a movie of this kind must be to make the viewer empathize with the protagonist who struggles between life and death, in my opinion it has not succeeded in its intent.
