Not as soaringly silly as the first one, and it takes half the movie to get into the main conflict, but I'm a sucker for any make-your-own-family narrative, so I ended up all in by the end. Yondu steals the show; no small feat when you've got Drax and Baby Groot to contend with.
A still-fresh examination of toxic masculinity and how it's just as detrimental to men as to women. While it's understandable that the focus is on the two male protagonists, the actresses were so compelling I wish we could have had more than brief glimpses into their interior lives. Ann-Margaret in the tennis scene is a revelation.
