Michelle Carter's case is another one of those real cases that are so complex and delicate that the idea of an adaptation alone sounds dangerous due to the possibility of romanticisation or disrespectful inadequacy towards the victim. Close has a very simple story, told with great serenity and sensitivity too. It's a good drama about coming of age and facing deep issues early in life. The two actors who share the friendship are good and future promises of French cinema.
A touching and emotional film that certainly deserves the recognition it has received.
