I can totally see why Baz Luhrmann wouldn't work for any one person, based just on this film alone. But this adaptation of Romeo and Juliet is such an anachronistic time capsule, so unapologetically and vividly of its very specific time, that I can'tβ¦

Having already made myself some toast and milky tea to have while slobbing around in my pjs and watching this, I can say Robbie is a reindeer after my own heart. At least until he kicks himself into gear later to win at all the physical activity everythings. I'm not really sure why this was re-released with an American cast as the English castβ¦
Jack Lemmon and Walter Matthau are such a pair of lovable goofs and pairing them up into these grumpy personalities results in way too many funny little moments to be able to pick out favorites. Although one moment when Matthau has the line "This man is a menace" immediately brought me back to watching the 1993 Dennis the Menace probably an unspeakable amount and probably driving my parents insane with it. But this film had me in absolute stitches, somethingβ¦

Wow if ever there was someone who needed to be murdered by an evil burlap sack child on Halloween night. Who takes their decorations down on HALLOWEEN NIGHT?! Take your spiritless self inside and sit down ffs. I miss when entire neighborhoods used to decorate houses for trick-or-treaters or just to be fun on a holiday and this girl is over here like "UGH I HATE HALLOWEEN."β¦
