    Not a movie you can half-watch. I learned that over the 3 days I took to watch this shooter that has the scope of a movie but comes off as a tv show. Dense and melodramatic, it proves often to be too big a weight for Donnie Yen’s acting chops. He’s almost Damon-esque in this, to a degree. An Everyman whose morals are immovable, and their violence comes from being asked to move them. 

    Good action, when it was there! About 35 minutes of this 2+ hour movie are action. It’s worth a speed run.

    Second time through, it’s both sleepier and better than the first. I did it in two separate chunks over two days. This movie is hypnotic! One of the COVID era movies that, to me, is better enjoyed at home with the luxury of pausing and resuming the next day.

    The covid ness nearly ruins what is Carnahans most bonkers movie since Stretch.     This was sad for me! A movie i loved in theaters, liked enough on second viewing, and just flat out couldn’t get into this time. The editing, script, and structure used to seem so metal to me and now it comes off as in need of notes. What a cast though.
