I'm still very happy that my thoughts on this film have remained very similar to past rewatches. Certainly, Guardians Volume 2 is nowhere near as thoughtful, entertaining, or resonate to me as its predecessor, but I still find the film to be a very enjoyable and heartfelt continuation. I get a kick out of the humor, the individual character arcs, for the most part, which add a bit more to each of the characters, and the soundtrack which remains strong. I also feel, however, that there are some big issues with the film trying to balance most of these elements, making for some very uneven transitions between sequences. It also feels like some of these elements, including the humor, are overcooked in an attempt to recapture what I loved about the first film. Again, I find this to be a very solid sequel, but I still feel like it could have been a bit better.
