James Callan’s review published on Letterboxd:
Nick and Nora are rightfully celebrated — Powell and Loy have an easy chemistry, and this is one of those movies that demonstrates that a happy, solid marriage can be not just fine but entertaining. (It's delightful that women throw themselves at Nick but Nora trusts him completely.)
The story is ... forgettable, really, partly because the movie can't show some of the real grit that's in the novel. But it works as an excuse to hang with the Charleses, and that's enough.
(I would've sworn that I'd seen this before, but absolutely nothing about it was familiar, so perhaps I'd inadvertently avoided it.)
