And another up and down I had with Masaaki Yuasa... The movie is neat, the beginning absolute fantastic (especially the stunning background art!), until Masaaki goes off the tracks to show of his incredible imaginary world. Yeah, it is nice, unfortunately though most of the sidekicks feel more interesting than the actual main heroine.
Also the length of the movie could've been easily cut by 30-40 mins, since all the visual quirkyness feels draining after a while and you start missing essence of the story.
'Welcome to the Space Show' a pretty darn wild ride, sometimes trippy but also really tiring.
