Letterboxd — Your life in film

I watched this film already this year because I forgot almost everthing from the first time. There is a reason for that.

It just can't catch up with the far better series/film Drawn Together.
Good adult comic films are not that easy to make. Another example is Frith the cat which surely was a model to this one.

You get the dirty little 70s crime flick you want. Even if the violence could be a little more explicit in that kind of movie.

Some of the greatest cinema has to offer. Plus a japanese Gaddafi (as a warden).

I don't know what it is with this film.
I like the look. It has some stylish violent scenes that I do like a lot. I think Steve McQueen is cool as fuck and the car chase sequence is just damn great.
But there is something with the acting and the lack of suspense at which I'm not sure if it's really the acting bothering me that the film doesn't catch me as I wished it would.

Der Film hätte auch 4-5 Std laufen können.

Ich war begeistert von "a man escaped".
Bei diesem Film ging es mir exakt wie Ingmar Bergman:
"this Balthazar, I didn’t understand a word of it, it was so completely boring."

Der Film erzählt die Geschichte eines jungen japanischen Werner Herzog in der Neuzeit.

Ein chinesischer Sid Haid, ein Piratenkönig mit hamburger Seefahrerakzent und harte Gewalt inmitten lustiger Sprüche und Slapstickeinlagen. Das ist "Der Superfighter".

Herrlich überzogen, aber mit einer Selbsverständlichkeit, die diesen Film so wunderbar macht.
