Probably my favorite Hitchcock movie with some great editing, cinematography, lighting and an astonishing play by the two main characters which alltogether makes one uncomfortable tense film whose story unfortunately can't keep up until the very end (That only Jesus could save Henry Fonda killed it for me).

It's too short. But that's not a compliment in this case.
You only get to see a glimpse of every station of the protagonists life so I got the feeling of not getting into that character completely.
I imagine this like the coming-of-age equivalent to "Once Upon a Time in America". Like a 3 - 4 hour epic about the life of that black man.

The Battle Wizard 1977

The story:
A young rational pacifist learns that if he's not the best fighter in the world his knowledge is worth shit.
The critique:
This would be a five star film if everything around the crazy colourful characters and would have been taken more serious.
Mentioning the fighing. The editing there is not on the Shaw Brothers level that I know. It's sometimes too unclear and hectic but one gets over that quickly experiencing this crazy wizard fights.
P.S.: Be warned about the big bad motherfucker gorilla!
