Cutie Honey: Tears ★½

Cutie Honey takes a turn to earnestland so we have a beautiful but very sincere young heroine ghostpunching her ways through a dystopian Tokyo megalopolis. By the way, it's raining all the time in Neo-Tokyo and this is beautiful to look at despite the obviously limited budget. Though, much of the high tech bullshit featured here is going on the viewer's nerves and feels nothing else like blown up petitesses - the trashiness of the production values oozes out of almost every frame. They should have made a film from the streets, then this could have been quite good. Like this, it's a (sometimes very annoying) wannabe blockbuster.
