I don’t know why as a kid I wasn’t really able to accept Part III’s comparatively simple “travels to a period of time and has an adventure there” setup. It’s what I’d do with a time machine, so that was a dumb hang-up.
I don’t think it registered for me as a kid just how much the “chicken” stuff sucks. Feels like it was a rewrite away from being every bit as good as the first one if that lame ass character beat didn’t become the ultimate scene solver
About Famous is a film that fully realized in every way possible. It's a tremendous portal to its time, it's big, it's small; it's tremendous. Perhaps more importantly for me, it's a film I connected with in just about every way imaginable, and I loved it.
