    It was...fine? Seeing a whole scad of famous people hamming it up is always sort of fun, even if the targets of the satire feel simultaneously too broad and unfocused in parts (anyone taken in by misinformation! All of media!) and incredibly specific in others.

    It's very human ending doesn't feel genuine in the tone of the rest of the film, because it's not really an apocalypse movie, and the American focus also makes it feel odd in 2021.

    It really is a fairly satisfying answer to “Why did they make another Matrix movie?”

    It’s a bit more wink-wink than the original trilogy but that’s ok because 2 & 3’s seriousness can feel a bit off putting to me. And I really dug the whole cast! And for all the meta-humor and campiness, I also appreciate the sincerity at the heart of it all.
