Ben’s review published on Letterboxd:
The Dark Knight is probably the best superhero movie ever made.
Heath Ledger submits an all-time great performance; the action is stellar; and all of it is rounded out by Hans Zimmer's effective, if overrated, score.
So, what's the problem? Well, the same as really any other superhero film. The melodrama is reprehensibly ceaseless, accompanied by cringe-inducing dialogue (typical of Nolan), and the trite "good vs. evil" theme. (Guess what, good wins!)
Also, there are 10 or 11 things that make no fucking sense, again typical of Nolan.
