Tobe Hooper kicks it up a notch with a different take on the family of cannibals.
The first one is a classic and instead of making it a rehash or a forgettable follow-up, a more comedic and silly take in the sequel is a damn good decision.
Sequels such as Evil Dead 2, Aliens, and Terminator 2 are solidified as branching out across different genres. This sequel is one of them. There's more depth with Leatherface and his family. Makes you think about their lives beyond what you see onscreen.
Tom Savini's make up effects are great as always. We see more gore in classic 80's slasher fashion.
