Dune: Part Two 2024
Watched in IMAX and the sound design in the third act was like wearing one of those vibrating vests they give to people with cystic fibrosis
Predictably leviathan, excellently and bravely paced, a welcome but not jarring injection of humor from Bardem, deeper and richer building into the multi-planetary lore, a surprising domineering turn from Chalamet, another step towards a possibly all timer Skywalker rivalling of a trilogy. Pure cinema.

The Animal Kingdom 2023
Of devolution & discrimination, Thomas Cailey’s delicate THE ANIMAL KINGDOM unfurls a pre-apocalyptic creature feature less interested in monsters than the domestic and domesticated: a fathers love for his puppy dog eyed son & allegorical spit at humans torrid repellence of that which is different. Tender, biting, but with a bounding freedom that is swellingly joyful.
Basically a A24 Zootopia prequel.

Don’t call it a cum back, Ti’s been here for years
X is a horror maestro working at his absolute best: reverent for the past, yet playful, subversive and never slavish in his lensing of it. Tension, pathos and big dicks abound in a film that is a shotgun to the face of bi erasure in the gnarliest and most tender way possible. No one gives me an editing boner quite like Ti.
