Once Upon a Time… in Hollywood ★★★★

There are a lot of unanswered questions here, like why Cliff Booth killed his wife, or what exactly Sharon Tate is doing in the movie, or whether we're supposed to side with the hippies who are introduced in a very Reservoir Dogs shot and are against Vietnam but also belong to a cult of murderers, but unfortunately what I like most about this movie is all the non-critical, uninteresting things about it: it loves 50's westerns as much as I do, it takes its time languishing in mood and ambiance, it's absolutely stunningly beautiful—in short, it just pushes all my buttons. This is my Transformers: I just like to sit and look at it. Fortunately for you all, there are plenty of other people on here, smarter and more willing to pull this thing apart then I am. Go check them out. Maybe the fourth time I see it I'll have something more substantial to say
