The Nice Guys

The Nice Guys ★★★★

Holland March's pre-teen daughter running around fixing all her father's drunken mishaps and just generally being a better detective than him is some of the most fun I've had in theaters so far this year. March and his partner Jackson Healy are also perfect foils for each other: while both have similar goals (they want to be good father figures and eliminate evil from the world), they have completely opposed methodologies for how to achieve those goals. And then the happy ending where their methodologies finally line up is Healy starting to drink again. Incredibly specific sense of humor. A delight.
