Sorry. It's just not very good.
The money on screen can't make up for the formulaic story, dull characters, and massive plot holes. It is impossible not to compare this film to Interstellar which has it beat on all counts.
A near-catatonic Brad Pitt spends his time infront of the camera either in slo-mo or unnecessarily jerky "action" set pieces. Bless him, he tries desperately to find the drama in his not very traumatic situation. But the mopey-ness is insufferable…
