I miss the simplicity of a blockbuster movie with a running time between 90 and 105 minutes in length. The visual effects in this movie are very well done. The plot is structured for a traditional setup by stating the predicament, adding a couple of hurdles for the hero to overcome, then allowing him to complete his mission. However, I was feeling a bit bored while watching the movie. I respect it on a technical premise, but I was not emotionally vested in the characters or their story.
