  The Northman is two movies at once. A devilish auteur adventure into Norse mythology and a GoT-like fantasy blockbuster slowed down with reverb. Eggers tried his best to make a thing that absolutely shouldn't work, work. He succeeds when he doesn't take himself or his characters too seriously. Best scene: the first ritual. Worst scene: the battle in the climax
