James Davis’s review published on Letterboxd:
If we all got to know the target of our prejudices and realised they were just people as well then the world would be a much better place...It’s really depressing this message feels relevant, through the prism of Nazi Germany no less, in 20 fucking 19. This film isn’t as trite as that sounds though. Often hilarious without making light of the subject matter itself, Waititi has made the WW2 film only he could. Which is Moonrise Kingdom with Hitler Youth instead of boys scouts.
