There are two choices in Manchester by the Sea that I think are indefensible. Number one is the way Lonergan has chosen to present the burning down of Lee Chandler's (Casey Affleck's) house. I'm not ashamed to say I didn't pay for this. No one should have to pay for work that is this uninspired, obnoxious or worthless. If you, like I did, feel compelled to see this movie because of the "people" on your Twitter/Facebook feed who keep recommending it to you then I would suggest that you not pay for it either. There are many ways/opportunities to see movies like this for free if you seek them out.
