Film #10 of Scavenger Hunt 34
Task #28: A film parodied by the Simpsons
In a twist that will shock no one I haven't seen Alien. Primarily due to horror movies being a no-go in my upbringing. The only thing I can add to the conversation about this film is how surprising aspects of it were despite it's massive reputation. I had no idea the most famous scene takes place almost an hour in, how much emphasis was placed on the slow, atmospheric pace, and that Ripley wasn't the clear cut protagonist originally. I particularly loved that last one because I realize it's a pet peeve of mine whenever films open with a group of people and they have to immediately tell me who the lead is, so seeing that an iconic film hero wasn't presented as the protagonist until it became vital to the story was wonderful to me.
