If there were no commercials in this film I would swear this wasnt a made for television movie. Danielle Brooks is magnificent in her portrayal of the gospel legend. In my opinion it could almost rival the greatness of bigger produced biopics like Ray and Get On Up. My rating falls short of a full five stars due to the ending feeling suddenly rushed and not enough non-music related details of her life being included.

The sequel that we waited 30+ years for was not what we finally ended up getting. It was apparent that the budget for this film was significantly smaller than its predecessor causing it to look quite cheap. The cameos were exciting but weren't that spectacular. The plot dragged on boringly without any real laughs to fill in the time. The film wasnt a major disappointment but it wasnt anything worth talking about either.

Epic!!! Four hours in a 4:3 ratio but it was worth it. I'm not even a DC movie fan but this stands shoulder to shoulder with Avengers Endgame... hell it may even surpass it in a sense. This is what should have been given to the world in the beginning before that sorry excuse of a JL movie was released in 2017. Cheers to the Age of Heroes!

This was so much more than what I thought it was going to be and I loved it! The first half of the movie gave me a very strong erotic Alfred Hitchcock type of vibe but right as it was turning the corner for its last quarter lap of the story, BOOM! It turned into a "Tusk" version of "The Crying Game". I was absolutely awed at how I didn't see this coming. Masterfully crafted into one hell of a story with imagery that's almost dreamy in sense. I have to watch this again.
