Never before have I watched a film so perfectly reviwed by its own title. Maybe I just do not 'get' American humor as I did not laugh even once but just found it rather stupid and boring...
I sat through this film loving this woman that I did not know, and feeling sorry for her, hoping for her. It felt like a very intimate experience, almost like you are there with her as she goes about her life doing all her daily tasks, it does not feel like a film, but rather more like real life. That is what I think is supposed to happen when you watch a character study film that is well made.
An excellent film, and interesting idea showing the main character's life in reverse, the viewer is first shown a broken man, on the verge of a mental breakdown and then is given an opportunity to see the defining moments of his life and his downfall and demoralisation in reverse. Most people are born idealistic and innocent, and then "life happens".
Whenever I hear a story is being told backwards I get worried that it will be a pointless gimmick. Well…
