There's a deadly airborne virus. Why won't Timothy Olyphant put on a mask?
I love time loops. I love slashers. On paper this movie sounds great. In execution, it's only fine.
The slasher component is pretty mild. It's pg-13 horror, so you know going in that the kills are going to be pretty tame.
The time loop premise isn't really explored in any unique/interesting way. The movie retreads the same beats we've seen in time-loop media again and again. At least Groundhog Day was mentioned by name.
The college kids stuff is fine.…
A not so good early horror meta-comedy. Like Scream or Cabin in the Woods, but first and bad.
The protagonist is obnoxious and the meta-humor is pretty surface level. Better meta-fiction comments on tropes and archetypes, but this movie is content just pointing out foreshadowing and plot holes.
At least the boom mic scene is pretty great!
