had the wonderful pleasure of seeing this in a 70mm copy tonight. was afraid i'd have a tough time taking it seriously because i only knew airplane until now. was pleasently surprised. there's not much desaster besides the end but it has a certain tension going on the whole time which was nice. very impressive "monumental" film i enjoyed quite a bit. the cast and set design being mostly responsible.

fury road with frogs. 30 years earlier and not as good ^^
parts of the film are insane fun (setting, set pieces, frogs) other parts are subpar (plot, drive, execution). really wish it was better.

i'm stunned as to how this managed to get on any screen. surely disney must have a QA departement of some sorts? what is this supposed to be, some kind of childrens show? while the mandalorian at least had a couple of bright spots, this falls in the realm of boba fett or picard. an artificial product, designed for a theoretical audience in some target relevant group. it's not a story anyone wants to tell or act out or needs…

a new low in television series. despite its high budget it still manages torturing the viewer with shaky handcams (its 2022 ffs!) and superfast cuts that add nothing to the screen but a slight headache. mind boggling how a series like this can pass quality control. besides the obvious lack of basic technical expertise also the "story" doesnt justify any of this. its a confusing mess, sending random parts of aegyptian myths through the shredder.
