Despite all my rage, I'm still just a rat in a cage.
One of the most unconventional horror films I've ever seen, if you can call it a horror film. It blends genres and conflicting moods until it's something that feels foreign and strange in every aspect, which really fits with the main character's confusion, repulsion and temptation he's feeling faced with the strange culture of the island.
Extremely underrated sequel without Michael Myers that's actually way better than the later sequels with Michael Myers.
The story is inventive, with incredibly high stakes and genuine tension, the characters are fun, especially Conal Cochran, one of my favorite movie villains, the synth-soundtrack and the cinematography go well together, and the effects are absolutely gruesome in the best way possible.
