Obviously unique to this very day and more than likely to always stay that way, I'm not really sure that Freaks stands up as a great piece of cinema or entertainment, really.
There's enormous curiosity value and themes of acceptance that are to be applauded even to this day, but it's just not very interesting beyond that. It also clashes rather with Tod Browning's message somewhat that he just seems to be packing people randomly into scenes so he can get them to show off what they can do or what they are.
There's a name for something like that but it escapes me right now.
