Yeah, your review really got me thinking about this. I keep worrying how they will top the action from film to film but perhaps that will be where the key to the last two films will lie, in Hunt's character progression.

Mark - I really recommend the Empire podcasts that Chris McQuarrie did about the last two films. He talks about Sean Harris, especially in the Rogue Nation one, and I think you'll enjoy what he has to say about him.

She was, Michael, although she fell pregnant when Cruise got injured so if he hadn't done his ankle we might have seen her do a lot more action!

Connor - I did want to add something about awards shows for smaller films, such as Independent Spirit, and those that are more curated in nature and how maybe those should be supported. But even those ignore certain kinds of films, disappointingly.

Ahh, I misunderstand then.
I think there is room for Renner to return mainly because of the age factor with Rhames and Cruise especially, with him picking up more of the slack.

He presented it in such a way that it didn't actually matter if you knew the reference, but it was a nice surprise if you did. Same with Benji and the mask(s).

Wasn't that such a great moment? No big fuss is made about it either, just a nice little nod that might lead to more. Much like Benji and the mask, we all get it but they didn't make a big show of it. Everything in this just works.

I have to say that I loved the middle because it really solidified the whole whirl of different parties swirling around Hunt and him realising he can't trust anyway except his own small team. But yes, a truly great film.
