Extremely irresponsible of Netflix to add this feature film to their website, thus forcing me into an early retirement.

Tell the voice to flip a coin.

SOME SPOILERS HERE FOR OTHER FILMS IN THE MISSION: IMPOSSIBLE SERIES

His indestructibility balances out his flaws.

Ethan Hunt's character curve in this series is not as pronounced as some people think. If you remember back to the original, Hunt's despair at losing his team was writ large across him and he's forced to recruit those he may not be able to rely on to save whoever was left.

The nominations for the Golden Globes were released last night, which prompted me into a brief but restrained (for me) Twitter rant about how typically crap they were.

So. What do they do now?

That was the question I was asking myself months before I had even seen Mission: Impossible - Fallout. It was a question asked under the assumption that this would be at least as good as its two predecessors, despite me having left Rogue Nation (every time I've watched it) wondering how Christopher McQuarrie was supposed to top THAT.

As it turned out, I didn't leave the cinema asking that question. That is perhaps where…
