  Read the book. It can be done in a day. You'd want it to be done in a day.   I didn't really care much for most of the characters. Only till the part where the film revealed the preacher's true intentions with Lenora. Simply because I empathized with the narrative arc involving the two orphans. More so helped by the amazing acting of Tom Holland and Eliza Scanlen.
