    Everything Everywhere All at Once

This film capitalizes on a popular blockbuster trend, that being the concept of the multiverse, while oozing originality, uniqueness, and creativity in every single frame. My favorite aspect here would have to be the action, which was choreographed brilliantly. There are quite a few fight scenes, and they all manage to add something different to the story, while maintaining a constantly chaotic energy. The comedy was also top-notch, with the live-action Ratatouille, but with a hibachi raccoon (Raccaccoonie), being the standout…

Man, Taron Egerton’s performance as Elton John in this film is absolutely electric. He’s so perfectly eccentric and emotional, and despite the path we see him go down here, the audience remains sympathetically on his side throughout. The film focuses on a specific element from a specific time in Elton’s career, and I think it handles his dealing with his many, many vices, and his journey of self-acceptance perfectly. The cinematography is also dazzling, and the musical sequences are extremely…

The characters are fun to watch, without ever feeling like complete archetypes of the “headstrong, yet smart female explorer” and the “strong, reluctant Dwayne Johnson type.” The pacing is good, the action is exciting, and there is plenty of ‘Jungle Cruise’ Disney Parks fan service, from the puns, to the backside of water, Trader Sam, etc. The twists and turns in the back…

    Spider-Man: No Way Home

This review may contain spoilers. I can handle the truth.

This movie really is a dream come true; it’s still amazing to me how No Way Home is able to work so well as a nostalgia filled revival of past Spider-Man franchises, AND as a fantastic story for the MCU’s Peter Parker. Every moment, every bit of banter from our three Spider-Men is great - the film integrates Tobey Maguire’s version perfectly, capturing the tone of his take on the character extremely well, while simultaneously redeeming Andrew Garfield’s version for me.…
