The identity of the villain wasn’t much of a mystery, but that’s fine by me, because the rest was excellent. Not on par with the original, but that’s only because the story of the Parr family becoming the Incredibles is darn near perfect. This one is a little too long, and a little slow in parts, but the family- and husband-and-wife drama is very real, and Jack-Jack absolutely steals the show.
Oh, and it probably goes without saying, but that’s why I have to say it—the animation here is impeccable. Light years beyond what it was 14 years ago, sure, but it also avoids betraying the flair and elegance of the original.
