The Death of Stalin ★★★★

"How can you run and plot at the same time?"

Played much, much straighter than the standard Iannucci fare I'm used to, but somehow it's almost as funny. There's a built-in seriousness to the whole endeavor, and yet I can't help but laugh as these power-hungry nincompoops scramble to curry favor and set themselves up for the next regime.

The Iannucci outlook on humanity is very cynical, sure, but the flippant attitude he has toward power structures makes it difficult to do anything but laugh in the face of the despair.
