Before the DVD, the trailer of A Dog’s Purpose played and my father said something to me along the lines of “why are they showing this cheese before an Oscar winning film?”. I was amused, it really did seem like a bizarre combination of films, why were they showing A Dogs Purpose before an Oscar winning film? But Green Book really falls perfectly into said category of cheesy, and overall lacklustre films targeted at the mass audiences. Certainly didn’t hate…
I’m really struggling to write this review because nothing I am able to say will do this film justice. It’s cliché, but “It’s not a film, it’s an experience” sums Aftersun up perfectly. A beautifully crafted directorial debut about the struggles of parenthood and the innocence of childhood.
