Shurgg Shurggerson’s review published on Letterboxd:
Ryan Gosling will always be dear to me for often seeking out new routes to cinematic emasculation.
I think I'm approaching Russel Crowe's physique *and* temperament in my old age I probably have a serious self inventory to do.
Shane Black has a weird talent for making precocious kid shit work.
It goes down so easy? A lot of the jokes or moments that seem like they should be *big* go down small but then pay dividends later. Like Gosling's dream of the bee leading to the accident providing both a gag (the chat with the giant bee) and immediate plot development (the accident tipping them to the setup) but also planting the seed of the later ankle holster joke.
Good rambles. Good fuck-ups. Amen.
