“isn't everything we do in life
a way to be loved a little more?”
“I have to remind myself that some birds aren't meant to be caged. Their feathers are just too bright. And when they fly away, the part of you that knows it was a sin to lock them up does rejoice. Still, the place you live in is that much more drab and empty that they're gone.”
The second time, even better.
The most beautiful thing about this movie is that everything looks so “simple” but at the same time very powerful. We don’t need words anymore when the chemistry is so strong between the leads, that a gaze is enough to understand.
after nearly a year i gave this another try. i think anya taylor-joy is splendid in the film and is supported by a great cast. but the movie doesn’t work for me. i’m not fan of the costumes, the sets are beautiful but not fitting. some of the dialogues are clever and witty but the actual plot is tough to follow for someone that isn’t familiar with jane austen’s work.
