    The Batman

We live in a world where the comic blockbusters rely on CGI-heavy scenes and surprise cameos while the most important element of writing gets left behind.

The experience of watching a film and not realizing you are watching one until the credits are rolling, this might sound pretentious, but that’s the experience of this film. The feeling of witnessing a masterpiece which involves all the masters in their respective craft, in front and behind the camera. Xavier Dolan is one of my favorite directors of all time and at age 29, he created one of my favorite films of all time.

This is not his most impressive screenplay and it is not his most visual film. But from what I've seen from his filmography, this is the film that wears its heart on its sleeve.

The acting, writing, soundtrack, directing are heavy with emotions (as usual) and yet, Xavier Dolan did not waste a single take, he poured his entire heart and soul in front and behind the camera.

I had to go and watch this film again before it leaves the theaters. I’ll admit, the film is not perfect but the experience of watching this film that screams cinema, on the biggest screen possible with the best quality of audio, it is quite unforgettable.
