Sienna D’s review published on Letterboxd:
Heath Ledger's Joker is the character this movie needs, but not the one it deserves.
Despite my better judgement, I am not going to shit on this movie too hard. Mostly because I am too good of a mood to really destroy it for its innumerable flaws and idiotic script.
I love that the opening the sequence is nothing but the Joker fucking guys up. And while Ledger only gets better as the film goes on, the story is like the homemade cardigan my mama knitted me - full of holes and hideously grotesque.
Highlights of the film revolve solely around the Joker's antics and so in the scenes where he is absent feel like annoying filler until we are graced with his manic presence again.
It's the superior film of the dark knight trilogy but unfortunately that's not really high praise.
