Ryan Silberstein’s review published on Letterboxd:
Maybe some of the negative swirl around this movie lowered my expectations, but I had a blast watching it.
The structure is a mess, the story makes no sense, and none of the characters act remotely like human beings.
And yet. Snyder and the folks at DC are making their films about superheroes as a pantheon, as opposed to Marvel's "outcasts with powers" mode of storytelling. This film is all about iconography. It's far from perfect, but it embraces the power these characters hold as cultural symbols. It's opera as opposed to character driven story. I can't wait to see it again.
