Rises up higher and higher in my Linklater rankings with every revisit. I adore how this is about the small interactions that nonetheless feel cosmic, and how the minutiae of high school life can be evoked with such poetry. Every moment feels like the cusp of the next big thing, but of what exactly? Or is it anything at all? The answer lies in the beer keg running out, with a half empty cup thrown over the pump handle as the party dies down, the last checklist for the night being a joint and a fuck you to the system they'll eventually conform to.
