    Always emotionally immediate, there's such a prevading sense of hopelessness that makes the acts of compassion within so much more impactful. There's no definitive judgement passed on anyone involved, the presentation of characters very genuine and ambiguous given that the whole thing's in real time. It's easy to see how Ronald Reagan and John Wayne came away from this with completely different reactions.

    One man's struggle with an undefined but unshakeable sense of purpose and a whole town trying to snap him out of it, when that train finally rolls in at high noon it's like seeing it crash, you can't look away.
