Has a lot of issues - mostly related to its script - but it also has so so so much charm.
The humor is a wee bit too low-brow for its own good at times, and due to the parody-like nature of the movie, most of the characters are very one-dimensional, but Hot Fuzz is nonetheless a masterclass in editing and setup/payoff – plus the action and gore is delightfully over-the-top.
It might lack depth, but the rewatchability is strong with this one.
The word “beautiful” is so overused when people talk about movies, and I must admit to indulging in the easy cop-out that using that word is on more than one occasion, but in the case of Before Sunrise it seems almost too fitting for any description of this movie to not include those nine letters, so that’s exactly what I’m going to do.
