Blood Simple

Blood Simple ★★★★½

Poor on purpose and morale; I believe that with a film, a director doesn’t have the time to tell a story, but he/she has the reach out to the audience and bring a message. What is the message here? Don’t kill your wife if she is fucking someone else? This film has no ambition, but we forgive it, because of Joel and Ethan Coen’s undeniable brilliant ability to create a raw film and a sick black comedy. Endlessly entertaining, funny as nothing the Coen Bros. ever have achieved and bleak as hell. A few sequences were gory and a few others almost scary in how unconcealed it portrayed the criminal acts, such as someone being buried alive.

A new favorite of mine, no doubt.
