What a noisy, horrible mess. When even the trademark Bayhem is lacklustre and poorly presented you know you're in for a bad time. It's like Bay has xeroxed his formula so often it's become a low quality, fifth generation copy of something that wasn't that great to start with.

So you'll know already that the 150 minute runtime is filled with stuff that you will immediately forget; there are copious Magic Hour shots for no reason besides it looking cool;…

I'm not sure what I've just watched, but it was exotic.

There are hints of what would later become trademark Bergman. The existential angst, the remorse and emptiness, the complicated relationships that sum up human existence.

And yet the parts don't quite gel together. It's as if they're missing the vital connective tissue that binds everything together. Crisis isn't a bad film, but it's as if it has nothing to say. The characters move forward with no real impetus or motivation, lacking the depth that Bergman would later imbue his characters with. They are, ultimately, quite forgettable.

Still, it's nice to see his first effort. It makes my appreciation of his later works all the more pronounced.

This was lost until recently. I might argue that it should have stayed that way. Then again, it's entertaining in the same way you might enjoy Plan 9 From Outer Space.

There's some terrible acting, bad shot composition, disjointed musical cues and sound effects, and yet more bad acting. The only high point are the slow-motion/still frame/mannequin challenge sequences, but they are infrequent and aren't enough to justify the cost of entry.
